SPANISH 3281 Introduction To Hispanic Literature: Spanish America: 3 semester hours

Prerequisites: 2 of the following 3 courses: SPANISH 2172, SPANISH 2180, SPANISH 2199; or equivalent. A survey course that introduces students to selected texts of Spanish American writers from the colonial period to the present. The focus is on texts and excerpts that will familiarize students with the major movements and styles of Spanish-American literature. The socio-political contexts in which the works were written will also be studied.
