ASL 1001 American Sign Language I: 5 semester hours
This course begins to develop communicative skills in American Sign Language and knowledge of Deaf culture. Course emphasis is on acquisition of comprehension, production and interactional skills using basic grammatical features.
ASL 1002 American Sign Language II: 5 semester hours
Prerequisites: ASL 1001. This course further develops communicative skills in American Sign Language and knowledge of Deaf culture. Course emphasis is on acquisition of comprehension, production and interactional skills using basic grammatical features.
ASL 2101 American Sign Language III: 3 semester hours
Prerequisites: ASL 1002 or equivalent. This course is an extension of previous American Sign Language (ASL) courses. Students will continue to develop communicative skills in ASL and knowledge of Deaf culture. The course emphasizes advanced comprehension of ASL and additional development of conversational skills. Linguistic and cultural features are also presented in context of learning experiences.
